Song of the Week - 1979/Smashing Pumpkins
Colleenie Ghoulie is back and taking over Song of the Week for all of October. Last year we focused on some creepy songs. This year the theme is bands with Halloweenish names. First up...Smashing Pumpkins with one of my favorite songs 1979.

A few by Smashing Pumpkins I like, there was a track on a batman soundtrack, and my fave is called "Eye"
I'm liking "1979", which I'm not familiar, a lot of the grunge bands I haven't followed. Any idea why the song is called 1979 ?
I'll have to dig out my Batman Sounddtrack because I'm sure I'll remember "Eye" if I hear it.
As far as I know Billy Corgan named the song 1979 because it was a year he remembers fondly.
Great track. One of my fave Smashing Pumpkins song.
Ow...I love this song. Smashing is not in my list of favorite band but I truly love this song...a great song
