Amy's Having the BABY!

The Secret Life of the American Teenager

Okay, I’m 41 not 14, but I can’t wait for tomorrow night’s season finale of The Secret Life of the American Teenager.

What first started as me simply wanting to checking in on Molly Ringwald has since become a “guilty pleasure” that shot to the top of my must see list. ABC Family is catching everyone up with a marathon leading up to the finale, but seriously, if you’re watching this show, you have not missed a single episode.

Amy is now in labor, everyone is hooking up, sluts are re-evaluating their place in teen society and Ricky finally made it through an entire episode without trying to put the moves on anybody. Of course, though, he did in flashback!

The funny thing is I ended up caring about these characters a lot more than I ever expected. And a show that seems like it would have a short shelf-life actually can make it as we see the struggles a teen mother faces. If the show wants to make a social statement, it would better serve the teen community to see Amy try to navigate her way through motherhood as apposed to the squeaky music and blurry fade-out of Lifetime films.. “Ah, she’s keeping the baby. It’ll be tough, but she’ll make it through. She’s got moxie!”

If you really want to scare the teen population, show them how often you’ll miss social opportunities and how hard everyday life is when you have to put yourself in the foreground. Sure, the show is cheesy, but I do feel some of the messages are getting across.

Regardless, I’ll be glued to my set tomorrow night. There’s no way I’m recording this one. It’s going to be the Superbowl of teen dramas, and you’ve got to watch this one live!

Stewart "Frosts" Cramer

Was Jon Stewart successful in tearing Jim Cramer of CNBC’s Mad Money a new one? Well, yes he was! Stewart has the unbeatable combination of bringing intelligence and balls when he comes to the table. Over the years, he has become a serious force to be reckoned with. Do not step foot on his “comedy” show if you have not done your homework. This was the mistake Jim Cramer made. While Stewart is always respectful, he is one of the few on television today who will not back down from the tough question.

It was one hell of ride as Cramer was constantly beat down and tangled up in his own web of lies. The Daily Show has one top-notch research team, and they will find the dirt. Cramer thought he could sweet talk his way out Stewart’s accusations. Jim, you started the interview by saying you’re a fan. I think that’s another lie. If you actually watched the show, you would’ve known you’d be ripped to shreds and leave with your tail between your legs.

I wonder how much longer Stewart will be able to get away with his “fake” news show. Too often, this comedy show is bringing the real deal by a “fake” newsman we can trust.

Check out these furry guys!

I wasn't able to get a lot of writing done this weekend, but I found these adorable rats for you all to enjoy! It's better with the sound down. The Cinemax music is a little creepy!

All Eyes on Fallon

Tomorrow night, Jimmy Fallon takes over “Late Night” on NBC, the show left vacant by Conan O’Brien. Many have their reservations about Fallon’s success. I’m certainly one of them.

This time is different. When Conan took over, he was a virtual unknown in front of the camera. We’ve seen Fallon on TV and in movies and frankly, I don’t think many of us are impressed.

Fallon provokes the question, “How did this guy get a job?” I don’t know if he’s a great comedic writer; I only know his on-camera antics that consist of him merely laughing at his own jokes. He almost single-handedly ruins the infamous “Cowbell” skit with his constant laughing. He was the reason I stopped watching SNL for awhile. His incessant giggling is so unprofessional and annoying that I really don’t see how he could have possibly been tapped to be Conan’s successor.

Now, I’m fair. I will eat my words if he does a good job. I just have to be honest that coming into this, I have severe doubts.

We are in a faster age then when Conan took over. Fallon will not have as much time to sink or swim. I only hope for his sake that he’s learned to control the laughing.
